

Dearon "Deezer D" Thompson is an American actor, rapper and motivational speaker. He is best known for his role as Nurse Malik McGrath in the US TV series ER, and from his roles in the films CB4[1] and Fear of a Black Hat. His role on ER lasted 15 years, making Deezer the longest-running African-American male in a television series. Deezer D's most recent album, Rise Up, was released to critical and fan acclaim in early 2012, and his previous albums, Delayed, But Not Denied, and Unpredictable are still resonating with the people years later. After undergoing heart surgery in July 2009, Deezer has been hard at work, writing, recording, and performing all over the country. Of the experience, he has said that "it was a blessing in the sense that God is that much more tangible in my life today".
